Who can post
- You must be 16 or older. Under 16, a parent or guardian must post and manage the ad.
- Items and services must be in a city we list in Canada, and legal to own, buy or sell where you live.
- Use one email address. Posting with several emails is not allowed.
- Businesses, dealers and professionals must choose "business" when posting. Do not post as a private seller.
One ad per item
- Post each item or service once, in one city and the category that fits best.
- Do not repost the same ad while it is live. Ads run for 30 days; you can repost after that.
- Put the ad in the right category and keep the details accurate. Misleading titles, prices or photos are removed.
Not allowed
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition and replicas; drugs, cannabis and prescription medicine; alcohol, tobacco and vapes.
- Counterfeit or "first copy" goods, stolen or recalled items.
- Fake or altered documents, test scores, job offers, LMIAs, visas or admission letters, or any job that charges applicants a fee.
- Pyramid schemes, MLM, "earn $X a day from home" and guaranteed-return investments.
- Personals, dating, matrimonial (rishta) and adult content or services.
- Hate speech, defamation, and notices, opinions or warnings about people or businesses (use social media for those).
- Ads that profit from a disaster, a health scare or a tragedy.
Writing your ad
- Write in English or French. A short line in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu or another language is fine.
- Describe the item or service. Ads whose main purpose is to send people to a website are removed; one link is allowed.
- No keyword lists, hashtags or repeated words.
- Keep phone numbers and email in the contact fields, not in the description.
Housing and jobs
- No preferences or exclusions based on race, ethnicity, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, family status or student status. The only exception: in a shared home with shared kitchen or bathroom you may state the household (for example, a women-only household).
- Jobs must be real, paid positions. Never ask applicants for money.
Immigration services
- Paid immigration advice may only be offered by licensed representatives. Include your RCIC number (R followed by 6 digits) or law society membership.
Enforcement
- Every ad is checked automatically and reviewed before it goes live.
- Ads that break these rules are removed. After three removed ads in 30 days, posting from that email is paused for 30 days.
- Anyone can report an ad. Reported ads are hidden until we review them.
